Privacy Policy

1. Our approach

Breakthruu is designed so you can talk without revealing your identity to the companion supporting you. There is no sign-up, no login, no name, no email, no phone number. Our goal is to collect as little data as possible while keeping the service safe and reliable.

2. What we do collect

To keep the service running, some technical information is processed. We collect and store:

• An anonymous device ID generated in your browser and stored locally, so we can resume your conversation with a persona when you return.
• The text of your conversations, stored so the AI can remember what you shared and so the conversation feels continuous.
• Voice recordings (only when you use the microphone), transcribed for the AI to understand you. The transcript is stored with your conversation; the raw audio is not retained on our servers after transcription.
• Feedback you voluntarily submit (star rating and optional comment), stored to help us improve.
• Standard server logs such as IP address and browser type may be processed transiently by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
• Product analytics (aggregate usage counts like session totals and persona popularity) — no personal identifiers.

3. What we do NOT collect

• Your real name.
• Your email or phone number.
• Your government ID, financial information, or physical address.
• We do not ask for or verify identity in any form.

Please do not paste passwords, financial information, government identification numbers, home addresses or other unnecessary identifying information into the chat. If you do, it will be stored with your conversation and we cannot guarantee its confidentiality beyond the safeguards described here.

4. How we use conversation data

Your conversation is used only to power the AI's memory of your ongoing chat and to display it back to you in the same browser. We do not read individual conversations to profile, target, or contact you.

Aggregate, non-identifying statistics (for example: "on average users send 4 messages per conversation") may be used to improve the service and prompt design.

5. Third parties

To operate the AI companions we send your messages to a third-party large-language-model provider (currently Anthropic) and voice-generation services (OpenAI text-to-speech and speech-to-text). Your message is sent to Anthropic (the AI provider) over an encrypted connection and processed to generate a reply. It is not used to train their models.

We do not share your data with advertisers or brokers.

6. Retention and deletion

You can start a fresh conversation at any time by clicking "New conversation" inside a chat — this permanently deletes your prior messages for that persona from our database.

To wipe your device's link to us entirely, you can clear your browser's site data for this domain. That removes your local device ID and makes any remaining stored conversation unreachable from your browser.

7. Security

We take reasonable additional measures to protect our servers. However, no system is perfectly secure. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal or financial details in the chat.

8. Children

Breakthruu is intended for users aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please reach out to a trusted adult, a school counsellor, or Childline India at 1098.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
